Hotaru woke up on a park bench, and she found herself stranded at the park. ‘Oops,’ she thought as she glanced around the slight crowd, quickly covering her mouth and yawned. She shuddered and continued her search. She wasn’t trying to find anything in particular, she just didn’t know what to do, or where she was supposed to go. Hotaru stood up to fix her red skirt before she started tugging the sleeves of her pink, long sleeved shirt. fixed her skirt. She grabbed her black jacket and pulled her arms through, zipping it up half way.
The twelve year old started walking around randomly, getting strange looks from families and couples. She understood why. What person would go and wear a jacket and long sleeves in the summer? Hotaru bent her head and walked a little faster. She found sanctuary under a tree that wasn’t occupied, thankfully. Sadly, she didn’t have a book with her today, so she hoped someone she knew would be walking through the park today.
The tree was sad looking. It limped over and its leaves were already falling. Hotaru held her hands out and a few red leaves landed softly in her hands. She turned her hands so the leaves fell to the ground. A small sigh escaped her lips as she sat down and tried to relax as she lifted her hands above her head and stretched. Typical that would be the tree she would pick, but her mood was slowly becoming good.
